Rooted Grove is our campus marketplace. Here’s a plain-English breakdown of how it works and what protects you.
Grove Terms of Use (At a Glance)
What Rooted Grove Is: A peer-to-peer campus marketplace for buying and selling. Tree Technologies runs the platform — we are not the buyer or seller in any transaction.
Who Can Use It: You must have a Rooted University Hub account and be at least 18 years old to participate.
What’s Not Allowed: No weapons, drugs, stolen goods, counterfeit items, adult content, or academic cheating services. No harassment or impersonation.
Payments: All payments go through Stripe. Campus pickup is the only delivery option — no shipping in v1.
Our Liability: Capped at the greater of what you paid us in the last 12 months or $100.
Seller Agreement (At a Glance)
What You’re Agreeing To: Sell only permitted items, keep listings accurate, fulfill paid orders, and communicate professionally with buyers.
Getting Set Up: Complete Stripe Connect Express onboarding before accepting live payments.
Fees: Tree Technologies charges a 5% platform fee per successful transaction.
Chargebacks: You are responsible for chargebacks and Stripe dispute fees.
Taxes: You are responsible for reporting and paying taxes on your sales.
Grove Privacy Policy (At a Glance)
What We Collect: Business info and listing details for sellers; cart contents and order history for buyers; message content and activity for all users.
Payments: Checkout is handled by Stripe. We never store your full card number.
Who We Share It With: Other users see your shop profile. Stripe handles payments. AWS hosts our infrastructure. Firebase delivers push notifications. We do not sell your data.
Your Rights: Email contact@tree-technologies.com with subject “Rooted Grove Privacy Request” to access, correct, or delete your data.
Buyer Policy (At a Glance)
How It Works: You’re buying directly from a student seller. Prices and item condition are set by the seller.
Payments: Powered by Stripe. Your order is confirmed once payment is processed. We don’t store your card number.
Pickup: Campus pickup only. Coordinate the meeting spot through Grove messaging and meet in a public area.
Refunds: Contact the seller first. We may issue refunds for non-delivery or misrepresentation through Stripe.
